Greetings from Anchorage!!

Waiting for our flight to Anchorage.

We arrived Sunday night at 1:30 Alaska time to our hotel and after a few complication over the room. Settled in with great thankfulness to our spacious quarters.

The living/dining room w/ the bedroom door back right.

Our lovely little kitchen.

We cook under a time crunch in this kitchen, the stove top only works as long as the timer is wound. (a safety feature )

Our vast silverware assortment, this is literally all the utensils there are for cooking, serving and eating.

Amusement along the way.

Hiding in the empty cupboards.

Furniture forts.

And SNOW!!! it started at 2:00pm today and didn't stop until 9:00 which made a lovely powder coat 5-6 inches thick!! It'd be perfect for snowboarding but that's probably not a recommended pregnancy exercise. :oP

We went out and enjoyed it a little before dark at 4:30.

It's Leroy's first snow that he'd remember, I sat him down and he grabbed a handful gleefully and then as a few seconds passed got a rather worried look as his small hand grew chilly.

Later!!

Tomorrow Mr. Tech has a day flight to Fairbanks for a job and we get to stay here in town. I'm hoping to find a good book store or library as Phi loves books right now and it would be a nice inexpensive diversion.

BBBRRRRR!!

We're headed for Alaska this week, Daddy has to work and we get to go along for fun!! The forecast says it's to be snowing all week! That will be a nice switch from all the rain we've been enjoying here. I'm excited this time as we hope to stay in a hotel with a full kitchen so am looking forward to cooking some, versus continually being forced to eat out for an entire week. Not looking forward to the 4 hour flight, the little men usually do fine, but I am ready to breathe some real air about half way through as well as have some personal space back. We can't usually sit together (unless we get a nice stewardess) since we have two lap children (i.e. under 2 riding free). There are only 8 oxygen mask per row, the 8th one being for a stewardess!!? The idea being that they might be walking by your row when the need arises for one and need THAT one. So we sit apart.... But we're very glad to be going along and not sitting home all week waiting for Daddy to come back!

Our Visit to Miss Kate's House

Mr. Tech had to do some last minute work in Richland , WA last weekend and since it's only 2 hours from Moses Lake we got to go along and spend the weekend at Kate's house! We arrived late Friday evening so spent a lazy morning deciding what to do with Saturday. After a chat on skype with Grampa and Gramma...

we headed to the park to play some disc golf.

We had for gotten our double jogger stroller in our hurried packing so Kate graciously shared hers with Leroy while she and Phi walked.

That's how it started out, but the leaves made for some very hard walking so we attempted sharing the stroller.

"You have a hole in your face Leroy??"

"wonder if there's anything in it??"

That didn't last too long and soon this was the set up of choice while they all enjoyed some graham crackers for snack.

Here's a "piece" of the lake. It's very strange if you see it on a map, it winds all over and looks like it should be a wide river instead of a lake. You cross it in multiple place driving around town.

The leaves were beautiful!

But it could sure make it challenging to find your disc!

Yay! some water to slash in.

Getting a ride from Phi.

By the end of 9 holes we really were missing our stroller. Who knew Kate's was for triplets!?!

The kiddo's where ready for a change at this point so we headed for the play ground well the guys and Deb finished another 9 holes to round out their game.

Phi loves climbing and was finding the highest points he could reach.

That night Nathan, Vi and Larisa came over for a delicious supper and a game of speed Uno.
Sorry no pictures of that or the remainder of the stay. Sunday we spent at meeting and then found a Golden Corral (weird name for a buffet but they're a great restaurant) in town for dinner. They serve a very wide variety of foods and aren't your typical greasy buffet for the most part. The only others we know of are in Anchorage, Alaska and Marysville, WA.
After dinner we headed back to the house to pack up and then for Richland where Mr. Tech had to reinstall a server he had worked on over the weekend.
Here's the little men entertaining themselves while waiting for Daddy.

Phi loves to see what all the buttons and knobs do, so that when you start the car everything lights up and turns on. The volume control knob is always an exciting one.

Looks like we're up to something.

Mr. Tech finished in time for us to make it to Richland's gospel and reading. Afterwards they all have supper together, so were able to have a fun visit with several there. We kept the kids up until we left about 9:00 and were able to make it home by 12:00. while they slept the whole way. Thanks for the great weekend everyone!!!
